Pediatric Dentistry
What is Pediatric Dentistry?
Children require routine preventative and restorative care in order to keep their teeth healthy and strong. We offer pediatric dentistry in our office in a calm, comfortable and state-of-the-art manner. We use kid-friendly terminology at all times to make your child’s experience comfortable rather than scary or frightening. We can provide care to children and teens of all ages, as well as those who have special needs.
Why might Pediatric Dentistry be needed?
Pediatric dentistry is crucial for keeping your child’s teeth healthy and strong. Rather than going to a regular family dentist, we take a kid-friendly approach at all times. Your child will look forward to their appointments because of how fun we make things for them. We focus on preventative and educational care so that you and your child is able to keep up with their oral health both during and after their appointment.
What makes your child a good candidate for Pediatric Dentistry?
All children are good candidates for pediatric dentistry. In fact, we often find that children who once had bad experiences with other offices find our practice to be more comfortable and relaxed. Our goal is to improve the lives of your children and to ensure that they have a safe, trusted place to receive their dental care. We recommend that you bring your child in for a checkup as soon as you notice their first teeth coming in and every six months from that point on.
What can your child expect during a typical Pediatric Dental appointment?
The initial appointment in our office typically involves a consultation, exam and cleaning. We may take x-rays of your child’s teeth depending on their age. The cleaning allows us to remove any buildup from their teeth and check the health of their gums. Our doctors then perform the examination to look for cavities and to monitor both growth and development of permanent teeth. We can pre-schedule their checkup visits so that you never have to worry that you’re missing an appointment.
